Spotlight on the Core Arts Pilates Studio
Core Arts Pilates Studio, located in the Anaheim Hills Village Plaza, is equipped with Gratz Equipment — considered a top manufacturer of Pilates equipment worldwide and authentically trained instructors.
Instructors at Core Arts Pilates have all completed at least 600 hours on all Pilates’ equipment including Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and Barrel.
This is the second studio owned by Rod Yabut and Sharmila Mitra, M.A., the first of which opened in 2004 and is located in the Los Angeles area. There, Mitra has worked with celebrities Toni Collette, Patricia Richardson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Mary Louise Parker and Victoria Secret model Yasmeen Ghauri.
She has also given Pilates instruction to several clients with health issues such as breast cancer, cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
Mitra first began Pilates as a theatre and dance student at Cal State Fullerton in 1997. Following her 1998 college graduation, she traveled to New York to study with the direct protégé of Joseph Pilates, master teacher Romana Kryzanowska through the New York Authentic Pilates Guild. From there she completed a second teacher certification-training program through Power Pilates.
She has also partnered with many exceptional dance studios within the Orange County area, most recently having the distinction of training several local finalists for the “So You Think You Can Dance” television show.
Pilates helps build core strength and flexibility, promotes weight loss, a lean appearance, more energy, mind and body fitness.
Private instruction, two person sessions and apparatus classes (which includes both mat time and the new Gratz Tower Wall Units), are offered at the Anaheim Hills studio.
