The Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Certification Program
The program’s pedagogy is modeled after our principal instructor’s apprenticeship under Romana Kryzanowska. The Pilates instructor apprenticeship at Core Arts Center is a comprehensive training program that prepares you to teach a range of clients and class sizes. It is geared for advanced Pilates students who are seeking to teach the Pilates method.
“An apprenticeship requires the student to use the five parts of the mind: imagination, memory, intelligence, will and spirit. An effective apprentice is studious, empathizing and projects confidence and energy to each client and is ready and able to assist a teacher at all times. The apprentice should help to maintain the orderliness of the studio to create a pleasant environment for all.” – Romana Kryzanowska
The program’s goal is to develop highly skilled, thoroughly qualified instructors proficient in the classical Pilates method, who are able to teach a comprehensive variety of body types with different physical challenges.
The curriculum revolves around a 600-hour apprenticeship at Core Arts Center, the classical method of learning how to teach the Pilates method. Through a hands-on apprenticeship, students learn how to deal with different bodies and their respective idiosyncrasies, and provide solutions with marked results. Along with the practical, students participate in monthly weekend intensives, which are facilitated by senior Pilates teachers with 10+ years of progressive teaching experience.
The program curriculum includes four examinations taken at 100-hour, 200-hour, 400-hour and 600-hour milestones to showcase comprehension. To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following pre-requisites:
